I’ll be volunteering with a few other AnimalSense trainers at One Tail at a Time’s Community Pet Day on Sunday, October 27. One Tail at a Time, is a no-kill, all-breed dog rescue that serves to lower euthanasia rates in the greater Chicagoland area and provide education on the humane treatment of companion animals. They host this event to engage and educate the community about dog health and well-being.
Having the opportunity to give back to the community and put the skills and knowledge I’ve learned to work, is truly such a rewarding experience and reminder why I started working in this industry. As dog trainers, our main objective at the event is fitting the dogs for new harnesses (many participants exchange their prong collar for a harness/collar – hooray!), provide useful training tips and answer any questions people might have regarding their dog.
