Pam Barnes Intern
Pamela
grew up in a household of cats and dogs and it seemed natural that she had a
great love for animals. Any time spent around dogs, horses, and various other
animals became some of her most memorable times. Pam’s
passion and love for music as a child meant one thing-she wanted to be a Rock
Star! She's an accomplished guitarist and has been playing since she was 10
years old when her favorite aunt bought her a guitar. But, ince that line of
work didn’t pan out, she decided to become a chef. Pam spent many years cooking
in various restaurants and also owned her own catering business. She then
attended Pam
worked as a docent at the Lincoln Park Zoo where she fell in love with
Gorillas, and is currently in training as a Volunteer at the Chicago Anti
Cruelty Society. Pam
was the owner of a wonderful mixed breed Lab/shepherd named Jamby who she loved
dearly. Unfortunately, Jamby had issues and was fear aggressive. She's
convinced that some of his problems could have been thwarted and resolved with
early dog training, which he did not receive. As a result of that experience,
her passion for early and lifelong dog training developed. Other interests are
travel, camping and boating. She especially loves taking her two golden retrievers
Murphy (CGC) and Chauncey (soon to be CGC) out on her power boat for a ride and
then a swim. Pam
is currently interning with AnimalSense and someday hopes to become a full time
dog trainer. She attended last years
