Ivonne Acevedo - Staff Trainer

Ivonne is a native of Puerto Rico, where she grew up in a small town surrounded by mountains and all kind of animals. In 2003, she moved to Chicago, where she worked as a volunteer for several organizations including The Anti-Cruelty Society, Animal Ark of Forest Park and Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation. In 2007, she enrolled in the Basic Obedience Dog Trainer program with the Animal Behavior College and got her certification as a Dog Trainer in January 2008. She worked with Courteous Canine, Inc. as the Puppy Kindergarden and Basic Obedience Instructor. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and is fully bilingual, offering training and counseling in English and Spanish. Ivonne is also the only representative in Illinois for the national Dogs & Storks program. 

In addition, she holds a bachelor degree in Marketing and a MBA in Human Resources. She is also a Certified Human Resources Professional (PHR). She is happily married and has a canine baby, Pancho and a 9 month old human baby, Daniela. Pancho is a 5 year old Golden Retriever and a member of Delta Society Therapy Dogs. He is also certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen.
