I have been Toby's parent for close to 7 years now. I rescued him from our local pound - he was a runt, had intestinal worms, hadn't eaten in a few days (because the other dogs would steal his food), and was an all around sick puppy. All of that is a distant memory - he is healthy and chubby and lives in a safe home.. but that didn't seem to remedy Toby's increasing anxiety and aggression problems. I have so many stories of friends and family members being bitten -- it got to the point that I was afraid to have people over! It wasn't just others - Toby was aggressive towards me as well. Every nite he would growl at me at LEAST 7-8 different times. In February of this year, he bit me so severely that I still bear the scar.. I knew that I HAD to do something about his behavior or else.
A friend of mine suggested that I see a behaviorist and THANKFULLY I found Jamie listed on line. She helped me work with a vet and she also helped make me feel not like a total failure as a pet parent. Toby is currently on medication to help him with his anxiety and aggression and TRULY it's like living with a totally different dog.
The change has been drastic!! We still have our times, but he is much more manageable and seems like such a happier dog now! Working with Jamie and her team has CHANGED OUR LIFE -- I never anticipated this would happen... we are truly thankful and grateful!
Thank you to Jamie for being SO wonderful and helping us!!
