Podcasts are free! Podcasting is a way of using your computer to automatically download video or audio files to your computer, iPod or other portable player, so that you always have something new to watch or listen to. It is an exciting alternative to just surfing the web, watching TV or listening to the radio, because you choose what shows you want to watch or listen to, and you choose when and where you want to watch or listen to them. You can watch or listen the clips right on your computer if you like, no other player is needed. You do not need to have an iPod to get the clips or to subscribe to the podcast, but the name "podcast" was inspired by the name "iPod". By setting up a podcast client (a RSS aggregator like iTunes or Juice), you will be able to subscribe to RSS feeds, just like you can subscribe to a magazine or newspaper. You tell the podcast client to update your computer and download any new clips of your favorite programs that it finds. This way, you will be able to get fresh material from AnimalSense (or other podcasts you subscribe too), without having to remember to keep checking back on the website to see if there are any new clips since the last time you visited.
