Videos and and Video Podcasts

We have some videos to share with you! We hope you get a kick out of seeing our students in action. Enjoy.

Our goal for AnimalSense video podcasts is to provide short fun video clips of our group dog obedience classes, private lessons, dog training tips, and cat and dog socialization classes such as kitten kindergarten and puppy preschool, which are all important for pet health and keeping animals part of their happy families. We provide the videos so our clients can be stars *grin* and also as an example of humane obedience.

If you want to use iTunes to subscribe to the podcast, this link will open iTunes and subscribe you to our podcast. If you do not know what it means to have "iTunes subscribe to the podcast" then check out our Podcast Subscription Instructions (RSS Feed).

A note about video formats: try the first link for the video you want to watch, that will download the mp4 format file. This will be the fastest download for you. If you have trouble with the mp4 video, you might have an old version of QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is a free download for Windows or Macs. We also have an avi format video you can download, but avi files will take about 10 times longer to download. Happy downloading!!

Agility

Agility class offers an introduction to various agility obstacles including jumps, open and closed tunnels, weave poles, and the seesaw. Great for confidence building!

In this mp4 video, Miko has a great practice run in agility class. We celebrate he successfully made it over the jumps without knocking them down! Excuse our strange noises; humans get so excited in this fun class. If you have trouble with the mp4 video, you might have an old version of QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is a free download for Windows or Macs. Or, try the avi format.

In this mp4 video, Maggie conquers the teeter and has the cutest hops over the jumps in agility class. We celebrate her great run through this canine agility course. If you have trouble with the mp4 video, you might have an old version of QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is a free download for Windows or Macs. Or, try the avi format.

Clicks, Tricks and Games

Clicks, Tricks and Games class uses many training techniques including clicker training. Clicker training is a fun and enjoyable way to introduce new behaviors and enhance already-existing ones. In this class we teach tons of fancy tricks and play fun training games.

We have a video of Lance coming soon!

Hollywood Dog

Hollywood Dog is an introduction to movie tricks, assistance work and tracking for those dogs born to perform! Does your dog think they are a star? Do you think your dog should have a star on Hollywood Boulevard? Then a class like this is for you!

In this video, Sarah gets a beer from the refrigerator! (OK. We do not have a real fridge with real beer, but the training is still impressive!) Sarah pulls on a towel to open the door to our fake fridge, takes the stuffed beer out, and (cross your fingers) drops it in the basket. If you have trouble with the mp4 video, you might have an old version of QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is a free download for Windows or Macs. Or, try the avi format.

In this video, Miko is able to ignore the other dogs in the room and concentrate on her task. She puts her tricks she learned together in a scene: Roll Over, Commando Crawl, Ring the Bell, Touch Your Mark. If you have trouble with the mp4 video, you might have an old version of QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is a free download for Windows or Macs. Or, try the avi format.

Podcast Subscription Instructions (RSS Feed)

Want to automatically get any new videos we post here? You can subscribe to our podcast! Using the RSS feed is the easiest way to get all our videos (current ones and any future ones too).

Podcasts are free! Podcasting is a way of using your computer to automatically download video or audio files to your computer, iPod or other portable player, so that you always have something new to watch or listen to. It is an exciting alternative to just surfing the web, watching TV or listening to the radio, because you choose what shows you want to watch or listen to, and you choose when and where you want to watch or listen to them. You can watch or listen the clips right on your computer if you like, no other player is needed. You do not need to have an iPod to get the clips or to subscribe to the podcast, but the name "podcast" was inspired by the name "iPod". By setting up a podcast client (a RSS aggregator like iTunes or Juice), you will be able to subscribe to RSS feeds, just like you can subscribe to a magazine or newspaper. You tell the podcast client to update your computer and download any new clips of your favorite programs that it finds. This way, you will be able to get fresh material from AnimalSense (or other podcasts you subscribe too), without having to remember to keep checking back on the website to see if there are any new clips since the last time you visited. If you like, you can read a tutorial on how to set up a podcast client and subscribe to your favorite podcast programs. And, Wikipedia has a nice description of "What is a podcast?"

If you want to use iTunes to subscribe to the podcast, this link will open iTunes and subscribe you to our podcast. (It might prompt you to OK opening iTunes as a "External Protocol Request". You can say yes by approving to "Launch application".) If you do not have iTunes yet, but want to get it, it is available for free download.

If you want to subscribe to the podcast, but dont want to use iTunes, you can use another podcast client program to automatically sync files to your computer or other portable device (like an iPod). For example, you can download Juice. It is a free, open-source podcast client that is available for Mac OS X, Windows & Linux. After downloading and starting Juice, select "subscriptions" and click on the add button (green with a plus sign), and paste this url into the dialog box http://AnimalSense.com/podcasts/video/rss-AnimalSenseVideo.xml
