Andrea Miller - Operations Manager & Staff Trainer
Andrea Miller loves to spread the word about AnimalSense!
Andrea experienced first-hand the positive effect of reward-based training when she enrolled in AnimalSense Academy in 2009. After graduation in the Academy's inaugural class in August 2009, she worked as an Assistant Trainer in group classes, learning even more about dog behavior. She is now a Staff Trainer and Operations Manager.
As Operations Manager, Andrea has totally immersed herself in all things AnimalSense. She oversees the daily operations of the fastest growing dog training company in Chicagoland. Prior to accepting this position, Andrea worked as Marketing & Promotion Coordinator for one year, helping people realize they can improve their relationships with their dogs through training. You will still see her at events, networking with area pet businesses and veterinarians and developing relationships in the community.
Andrea has been an animal lover her whole life, but decided to change careers to become a dog trainer after her years of volunteer work at PAWS Chicago. After being on staff at PAWS, Andrea now volunteers as an adoption counselor and as a volunteer trainer, making sure the homeless dogs and cats are successful in their new forever homes.
It was her desire to work with animals that led Andrea to enroll in AnimalSense Academy and leave her career as an Event Coordinator/Manager at The Chopping Block Cooking School. She worked there in many different roles for six years after graduating with honors from The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in 2002.
Prior to that, Andrea worked as a television news producer in several markets and eventually, as executive producer of an ABC affiliate in Florida before pursuing cooking as a career.
Andrea graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 1996.
As evidenced by her different career paths, Andrea has many interests including cooking, reading, yoga, music and mostly, spending time with her 15-year-old Beagle, Rayme.
